Another Year…

Another year under our belts. By all accounts, it went off better than expected. We had 100 guests comprised of veterans and their friends and family join 44 boats for a weekend on the Cape. The weather cooperated and the sun finally showed itself for what turned out to be a great day on the water.

A short video and slide show for those who missed the event or those who were there and just want to take another look. Enjoy!

Fishing Report

It looks like the fish have arrived and are just waiting for our fleet to head in just over 2 weeks.   Black Seabass and Scup are in thick, school stripers have been close for a while now, larger fish are starting to show.  Bluefish have already shown also and should be around for our event as well.

With 50 plus veterans and their guests signed up for this years event.  We expect to have 44 boats fishing, 2 support boats as well as state and federal vessels on hand to assist.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for some nice weather.  See you all there!

42 Boats!

Arthur and I would like to thank all 42 owners and crews for volunteering for the 2016 event.  We both know what is involved to get the boat, equipment, and crew ready and get it all there along with everyone else. Some of you even gave up or postponed charter dates in order to make the event.   Pretty impressive group of people and we’re proud to be a part of it.  Looking forward to catching up with friends, old and new…

Captains should have received a newsletter with information specifically for them.  If you did not receive one, please contact us and we’ll get you a copy ASAP

See you there!

Personal Observations…

I think AJ said it best when he said we were humbled and honored last weekend to share our world on the water with so many incredible people, now our brothers and sisters.  Personally I couldn’t have been happier spending time with Arthur on the project the last months, then getting the boat ready or making the trip to the cape for the weekend. It was all well worth it and I hope I get to do it again.

The outpouring of support both from sponsors and local people who showed their support in so many ways it blew me away.   A total stranger walked up to me at the hotel and handed me forty dollars. A veteran himself, he just wanted to be a small part of it. There are so many stories like this it boggles the mind.  I only wish society had always had this outlook on our service men and women. I have a good friend, a veteran of Vietnam himself, went through hell and came back. He still has problems dealing with this stuff, but his love for his brothers and fishing brought him to the event as a captain, volunteering his boat and himself because he knows what it really means.

In the immortal words of Arnold … I’ll be back…
